Everybody wants a beach house… but where exactly should buyers invest in Cape Town right now?
There has been some development in and around Cape Town these last few months, even in Covid times, and trends have started to take place in certain areas where people are in demand for luxury homes, says Dr. Andrew Golding, chief executive of the Pam Golding Property group.

Trends such as penthouses have become very popular and because of this, there is a minimum of these luxurious penthouses available. Penthouses give better returns in investments and can even range from 20% to 25% more than other apartments in the same building.

Especially because penthouses have big windows with beautiful rich Cape Town scenery and natural light, it gives the luxurious feel that a penthouse owner wants. People staying in penthouses in Cape Town generally want to have a magnificent view. It usually comes with a private pool that is a great selling point as a view from your swimming pool overlooking V&A Waterfront is extraordinary. These penthouses range from R40 million and up. If you can invest in a penthouse close to table mountain and V&A, it looks like you will get a pleasant amount of return on investment.

Furthermore, one of the other areas to look at which are trending among Kwazulu Natal buyers and buyers from Gauteng is Constantia. If you are looking for a more spacious property with a more relaxed environment, this might be more suitable for you. Constantia offers quite a unique lifestyle with large properties that allows younger couples to offer their kids more place to play and escape the hustle of the busy city, but still, be in an easy distance from the CBD. This might not give you views of V&A waterfront and Table Mountain, but this is rich in other natural scenery.
If you are looking to invest in property in Cape Town, why not consider turning it into a profit-generating asset. You can read more about how to do that, here.
